On Thursday, 30 May 2024, 12 students proudly represented the College at the CSBP Interschool Hockey Carnival at Geraldton Hockey Stadium.

Schools in Geraldton and the surrounding areas took part.

Our students, full of enthusiasm and determination, put on an impressive display of skill and sportsmanship.

The format of the carnival had teams of six players placed into one of three pools.

Our students were split into two teams, with each team ready to take on their opponents in a series of matches throughout the day.

With mouthguards in, shin guards on and hockey sticks at the ready, our players demonstrated exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship both on and off the field.

One of the highlights was the opportunity to meet Brodee Foster, top goal shooter for the Western Australia U/21 Men’s Hockey team.

Brodee’s presence was not only inspiring but also educational, as he entertained and motivated the players with his incredible skills.

His demonstrations and interaction with the students added an extra layer of excitement to the carnival, making it a memorable experience for all.

Both of our teams showcased their dedication and talent, impressing everyone with their strategic defending, precise passing, and goal-scoring abilities.

The GCC 1 hockey team, which played in the White Pool, was undefeated for the day, earning the title of overall winners for the White Pool.

The CSBP Interschool Hockey Carnival was more than just a series of matches. It was a celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork and the joy of playing hockey.

Congratulations to all our students who participated in the carnival.

We look forward to many more successful outings in the future and to continuing to foster a love for hockey and sportsmanship in our students.

Go GCC!
