Children from Pre-Primary to Year 4 were blessed with an exciting, educational incursion from sheep shearers Deane and Tony (Boomer) Shaw, with commentary provided by Phil McDonnell.

Students engaged in a hands-on demonstration in the school Wholistic Land Management centre, aligning with design technology studies Food & Fibre, and Process & Production, demonstrating the process of turning raw materials into finished goods.

The incursion was organised into three stations, co-ordinated by Year 5 garden helpers.

In the first rotation we saw the sheering of the sheep. At the next station we saw Mrs Shaw throw the fleece and trim the edges, and finally Wholistic Land Management Coordinator Kelly Harrington showcased one of her many talents, spinning the wool.

We thank the Lord for holding off the rain, and Mrs Harrington for organising such a wonderful event.
