Friday 7 February signified the official start of our Pre-Kindy program, which had been in the dreaming and planning stage for the past couple of years.

We had a lovely start to the program.

The day was filled with many opportunities to play, meet new friends and explore the new learning environment.

Some of the invitations to play included:

  • Puzzles, books, songs and stories.
  • A mud kitchen where many different mixtures and ‘meals’ were made as children experimented with different consistencies of sand and water, and cooking implements.
  • An obstacle course and balancing beam to explore how bodies can move.
  • Playdough to roll, press, cut, create and decorate.
  • Rice, funnels, scoops and containers to experiment with scooping, pouring, filling, overflowing and emptying.
  • Small world play with a forest filled with giant bugs and treasures.
