The City of Greater Geraldton Mayor agreed to record his first podcast when a Year 9 media student reached out for an interview.  

Mr Jerry Clune visited the College to help Hamish with his assignment for Media Production studies and shared helpful information about Council operations.   

Media Production Teacher Mr Daniel Fowler said Hamish contacted the Council because he was interested in local community issues.

The class was surprised but honoured when Mr Clune readily agreed to participate. 

Hamish prepared a range of questions about the role of Council and future plans. 

He asked about the Mayor’s priorities in the community and what initiatives the council was currently working on.

The Mayor also talked about the upgrades to the Hospital, some of the ways the council is trying to tackle the housing shortage and its hopes for offering more tertiary education opportunities (particularly those relevant to Geraldton) via the University Centre.
