Mime sparks creativity

Lower primary students improved their creativity and confidence during drama class, as they each presented ‘The Three Little Pigs’ using mime.

The students formed small groups and chose a character from the popular children’s fable about three pigs who each built a house from different materials.

Drama Teacher Miss Shelley Cox said the students learned about character and role in drama, and enjoyed dressing up in character.

“Mime is a great medium for students to begin exploring theatre skills. It helps introduce them to performing for an audience without having to worry about the stress of learning their lines.”
