Christmas Appeal helps needy

Students are helping to support Geraldton families in need with donations to the Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Appeal.

Students are invited to donate non-perishable food items and treats for hampers that will be given to families to enable them to celebrate a special Christmas meal. Year 9 students decorated containers to be placed in primary classrooms to collect the goodies.

Chaplain Mrs Tamicah Pettigrew said the appeal was a wonderful opportunity to support single parent families in need or families where parents have lost their job or experienced a crisis.

“The school has been partnering with the Salvation Army for many years and collecting donations in each classroom. Families give generously, which I think shows there is strong support for the Appeal in our school community.”

Secondary students can give using the donation box at Student Services. Donations will be collected until Friday November 22.
