CO2 racing car challenge

Posted by Gavin Box

Our CO2 Car challenge was a fierce competition to build the fastest miniature racing car propelled by carbon dioxide.

Year 7 students had to design, build and test their cars which were fuelled by a tiny cannister of carbon dioxide attached.

The challenge helped students develop understanding about key properties of the law of physics – with students building a car from wood and learning about aerodynamics, wind resistance, friction and drag.
