Grandfriends honoured at popular event

Primary students invited about 120 special guests to celebrate Grandfriends Day at the College recently.

The grandfriends visited classrooms and enjoyed a special morning tea, with a performance by singer/song writer Tenielle Neda. Tenielle is also the College Instrumental Program Coordinator.

The event is one of the highlights of the school calendar and allows the students to honour older people who are involved in their lives.

Community Relations Officer Mrs Fiona Davidson said it was lovely to have a number of grandfriends attend who don’t live in Geraldton.

“This popular initiative is an opportunity to acknowledge the unique and important role that grandfriends play in the life of our primary students.”
