Carnarvon Mission Trip a blessing

The team on the annual Year 10 Mission Trip to Carnarvon left a lasting positive impact on Carnarvon.

The theme of the trip was the Bible verse “Do everything in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14). This motivated each part of the Mission as students and teachers performed works of service to bless the local community.

Each morning students served at the Carnarvon Christian School by running activities with the primary girls and boys, helping out around the grounds or catering for the 30 Team members.

Afternoons were filled with assisting community groups. They did gardening, cleaning and yard work and also played basketball with students at the Community College.

Mission leader Mrs Lizette Labuschagne said the Mission had a positive impact on every team member and teachers were delighted to see students mature.

“The visit by our mission team is always a highlight of the year for the Carnarvon school students. They love the fact that teenagers from Geraldton care enough to come and spend time with them and do many fun things together.

“Our students were also very impacted when they saw how much their simple acts of service meant to the young girls and boys in Carnarvon.”

Evenings were a special time when each teacher gave a Bible devotion on the themes of a Biblical definition of love, mercy and grace, coming to God with a childlike faith, and our need for Jesus to pay the price for our sin.  Students then formed into small groups to share personal reflections.
