YEAR 9 – Midwest Port Tour

Year 9 students were very fortunate to have a tour of the Port of Geraldton today. Not only did the students hear about the Port’s trade operations, they also learnt about some of the strategies that have been implemented to limit corrosion in our environment – tying in with a recent lesson in their science class.

Corrosion expert, Dr Ian Macleod, presented the “All at Sea” learning program to students. This teaching resource is designed to encourage Year 9 and 10 students to pursue STEM learning in senior years through fun and interactive laboratory experiments on marine corrosion.

Year 10 Mission Trip to Carnarvon

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, the Year 10 students and a team of Teachers head off to Carnarvon Christian School for a week.

Students have been working hard in their mission teams, creating workshops using their gifts and talents to be able to serve the Carnarvon community. This week they have been practising some of their presentations with SCC students, in preparation for working with students in Carnarvon.

At the Worship Assembly on Monday, presented by the Year 10’s with music lead by Mr Gibson’s worship team, the Year 10 students were commissioned for their Mission Trip by Mr Fletcher.

Hats off to the huge amount of work put in by the Mission Team (staff), especially the organiser, Mrs Jo Lindsay.

The Team can’t wait to send back  great reports of our students doing amazing things, in His name.

Go well Team! We will be thinking of you and praying for you while you are away.

Life Skills – Morning Tea

At the end of last term, our Life Skills Program students were learning about serving afternoon tea. They cooked scones and invited staff to come for tea, serving them and waiting on tables.  They did an amazing job!

Mrs Rosalie Behiels organised everything with the students, and the staff who were invited for tea and scones felt very blessed.
